A post has the date on it and can be included in a multiple-post website page. It’s useful for blog posts.
A Page (capital ‘P’) doesn’t have the date, is standalone and isn’t included in a multiple-post website page. It’s useful for creating a ‘Contact’ or ‘About’ website page for example.
When you create a Page there are different Page templates: ‘Default Template’, ‘Page noindex, nofollow’ (asking search engines not to include it in their index), ‘Page without sidebars’, ‘Page without sidebars or a title’, ‘Page without sidebars, title or a space at the top’, ‘Page without a title’, ‘Page with date’, ‘Woocommerce with sidebars’, ‘Woocommerce without sidebars’ and ‘Landing Page’.
When writing a Page look for a small white box with the title ‘Template’ in the right hand side and click on the little drop down arrow on the right of that box to see the available templates.
The landing page is a completely blank page – the title won’t show, only the content (images, text etc.) that you enter. The landing page doesn’t have the header image that the rest of the site has.
